How do you spend your adult money?

Main Post:

I'm looking for fun things to do with my adult money! Trying to find a hobby or something. How did you find your hobby? I just recently bought a ton of stuff to make dioramas and lost interest the nest day. I cleared out sephora and yet don't care for make up. I need some ideas. I like games, but tend to just play the sims and those games like it. What do you do with your adult money?

Top Comment: Well I can answer your question in your title or I can give you hobby advice. But I can’t do both. Because I spend my adult money on adult responsibilities like rent, groceries, and therapy

Top Comment: Myself. I treat myself to a massage every month, I get my hair done every 5 weeks, I get my nails done every 3 weeks. I feel better about myself, which gives me a better outlook and attitude towards others.

Main Post:

So when Georgie was introduced, Adult Georgie I mean, we're told he sells more tires than anyone in Texas and at minimum has atleast 4 stores in what is apparently a pretty huge chain given how big Texas is. So that makes me wonder just how rich the guy is.

I mean guy has to be like a self made millionare right?

Top Comment: And yet... on the first episode sheldon is about to become a sperm donor for money.... Would love to confront him with this situation.

Walking short distances instead of taking a bus. If you can wait, buy things cheaper online than off the shelf.

Here's a "weird" one: Invest in your health to save money in future. You can think of healthier foods as an investment in your future medical status, and it may be something you choose to continue spending on. Future medical bills will be higher than they are now.

I grew up poor and now an adult I hoard money. The thought of spending money mentally hurts me. Please help?

Main Post:

Hi all, I'm in my early 20s. I just bought my first house and put half of my savings on the down payment. I have always wanted a house for security so I thought it was worth it. I wanted to put all of my money down but I had to stop myself because what if I need it for something, or could use it to invest and make even more money?

Before Covid, I rejected any social invitations that might require me to spend money. Obligatory work events were reimbursed by the company, so I was safe there. But for everything else... I just don't spend money. I can't justify it. I grew up dirt poor and it sucks to worry about money. Now I don't have to. Now I can save all the money I make just in case something were to happen.

Honestly I think you need to have a conversation with yourself about what your money does for you and how you plan to use it to better your life. I also want to say straight out that living in fear isn't going to help you make good decisions with your money, or in general. I do understand where you're coming from. My family never had any financial security either, and I tend to think more about money than I probably should. Just don't let it stop you from enjoying your life. Spend time (and sometimes money) with your friends. Give and help others where you can. Those are both worthy causes, and just because you couldn't do those things at one point doesn't mean you shouldn't now.

How much money should I budget for Ekka?

Main Post:

Two adults, two children. I can see ticket prices but it’s been a long time since I’ve been to a show and I’m sure ride prices are higher now.

Top Comment: Doesn't matter how much you budget. It won't be enough and you will be disgusted with the price of things. $8 to $15 for a ride I hope you have little kids or deep pockets.
